There is not much to report. The rain and wind have been present most of the time so the garden is still a bit of a mess. There have been a few good sunny days and the gardener finally came to prune that orange tree, which is now looking a lot different.

This planter is looking colourful, with yellow and red freesias and flowering succulents. They had the company of daffodils and irises a couple of weeks ago.
By the gate, lavenders, rosemary, lamb's ears and a perfect, miniature rose.

My red and pink orchids are taking a long time to open, so I have no photos of them yet.
I'm now looking forward to a sunny weekend that will let me spend a few hours planting some bulbs and generally sprucing things up.

That red Tulip is gorgeous, and the Freesias are simply lovely. Your orange tree certainly does look a whole lot better now that it's trimmed.
ReplyDeleteTulips don't seem to do well in my garden so it was a lovely surprise to find that a birthday present of 2 years' ago is still alive and now flowering again.

Deletethe pruning surely did make a difference with the orange tree! your pots are inspiring to me; i'd like to do more with pots. the area by your gate is lovely. i'd be tempted to sit there :)
ReplyDeleteThe gardener did a brilliant job. About 4 years ago I butchered my tangerine tree! Fortunately it recovered very well. A bench by the gate is a good idea. I must plant a bush that will get big enough to provide some shade there in summer.
DeleteI am so jealous of your orange tree. Do you save your lavendar and make into little pillows to put in your underwear draws? Also meant to deter moths...so they say :)

DeleteHi There....I think everything looks wonderful. You are so lucky to have an orange tree! Not only do I love the oranges, but I love the smell of the blossoms. Since I can't grow orange trees here, I have two Mock Orange shrubs. They smell nice, but not as nice as the real thing. Happy first day of spring!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a happy spring and thank you for your compliments. My orange blossom is perfuming my front door area right now! It doesn't feel like spring here - heavy showers, cold and wind here - it's weird. I'm looking forward to gardening weather.
